Jack's Scratcher is designed to fit most standard interior door jambs.  The hinged design adapts to most decorative trim styles and each side of the scratcher frame measures 2 1/3" across including the hinge.

Every Starter Kit includes 4 self-tapping screws, which we recommend for secure installation.  

Alternatively, a double stick tape of your choice can be used.  However, results vary and may damage your paint or trim.  We've tested 3M Command Large Picture Hanging Strips with good results, but we can't guarantee performance.  Use at your own risk.

Screws are the most reliable option - and repairing 4 small holes is easier than fixing hundreds of claw marks.  

Yes - you'll need a Phillips-head screwdriver for installation.  If your trim is solid wood or prone to splitting, a drill for pilot holes will help.

When installed on a wooden door frame using screws, Jack's Scratcher can withstand at least 80 pounds of downward force and 70 pounds of pulling force - strong enough for even the most enthusiastic scratchers.

Insert lifespan depends on the material and your cat's scratching habits.  Sisal and carpet are naturally more durable than cardboard and will typically last longer.  

In our home, the cardboard inserts last 2-3 months, while the carpet and sisal ones are still going strong after 6 months.

• Frame:  recycled ABS plastic - durable and eco-conscious.
• Backing board:  biodegradable and curbside recyclable.
• Adhesive:  non-toxic, biodegradable, and compatible with curbside recycling.
• Cardboard insert:  curbside recyclable (not biodegradable)
• Sisal insert:  biodegradable (not recyclable)
• Carpet insert:  biodegradable (not recyclable)

Tip:  if you'd like to recycle parts of the sisal or carpet inserts, remove the material first and recycle the backing board on it's own.

• Cardboard:  fully recyclable - drop it in your recycle bin.    
• Sisal:  biodegradable - trash it, or recycle the backing board after removing the rope.   
• Carpet:  biodegradable - trash it, or recycle the backing board after removing the carpet.

We fulfill orders Monday through Friday.  Orders for in-stock items are typically processed and shipped the following business day.  If there's ever a delay, we'll notify you right away.

Yes - once your tracking number is generated, we'll send it to you by email so you can follow your package.

Orders that haven't shipped can be changed or cancelled by emailing customerservice@whiskerswidgets.com.

Once your order has shipped, it can't be changed  or cancelled, but you can request a refund or exchange in accordance with our Returns & Exchange Policy.    

You have 60 days from the date of purchase to return or exchange unused items.

You can exchange the material within 60 days of purchase.  Return the unused inserts and we'll ship you a different material.  You'll cover any price difference. If the new material costs less, we'll refund you the difference.  See our full Returns & Exchanges Policy here.

If your item arrives defective or incorrect, we'll replace it at no cost to you.
